Germany

As the largest economy in the European Union and with a population of 85 million, Germany is an attractive market for real estate investment. Even if interest rates are no longer at their all-time-low, financing and transaction costs are still not high. After years of economic stagnation and extraordinary burdens from reunification, the German "Wirtschaftswunder" has regained strength although the effects that the recent problems in international financial markets may have on real estate in Germany are as yet unclear. Highly educated employees, comprehensive infrastructure, low inflation and the potential for large increase in rents make Germany attractive for investors in real estate.
