Markus is a partner in DLA Piper's Cologne office and heads the Real Estate Group in Germany. He is a member of the civil law committee of the German Lawyers Association (DAV). He is experienced in all aspects of Real Estate transactions, including property development and real estate financing. In addition, Markus advises national and international companies in turnkey plant and infrastructure projects.
Markus gained his PhD from the University of Cologne in 1997 and his law degree from the Law School of the Universities of Bonn, Geneva and Cologne. Prior to joining the organisation, Markus worked for an international law firm in Germany. In 1998, Markus spent six months as visiting attorney with a US law firm in Chicago. Markus speaks German, English and French.
