Ownership restrictions

Are there any legal restrictions on foreign investors acquiring real estate?

Zimbabwe

Zimbabwe

No.

Section 71(2) of the Constitution of Zimbabwe, 2013 states that every person has a right, in any part of Zimbabwe to acquire, hold, occupy, use, transfer, hypothecate, lease or dispose of all forms of property, either individually or in an association with others.

However, Agricultural Land:

Foreign nationals are generally restricted from owning agricultural land. This is supported by Zimbabwe's land tenure policies, which prioritize local ownership. For example, the Land Reform Programme and related legislation, such as the Agricultural Land Settlement Act, emphasize that agricultural land is reserved for Zimbabwean citizens or companies. While direct property ownership is limited for foreigners in Zimbabwe, leasing options and partnerships give viable alternatives for those interested in the country’s real estate market.
